Spain's Coll Marti claims gold in record-breaking 200m breaststroke at the 2025 European Short Course Championships in Poland. Luka Mladenovic of Austria secured bronze, touching in at 2:02.48. Marti, the reigning world champion, shattered his own Spanish record, improving on his previous benchmark of 2:01.55. The Virginia Tech Hokie's performance showcased a significant difference in the second half of the race. Additionally, Mladenovic's 2:02.48 outing set a new Austrian national record, surpassing his previous record by nearly a second. Darius-Stefan Coman of Romania also lowered his national record, finishing in 5th place with a time of 2:03.17. Furthermore, 18-year-old Filip Nowacki set a new European Junior Record of 2:02.96, finishing in 4th place.
