As a County Storyteller, you’ll be engaged on an assignment basis to:
- Uncover and document impactful stories by conducting interviews in your residing county.
- Capture the essence of these stories through high-quality photos and short, compelling videos.
- Craft digital content that resonates on social media platforms.
- Chronicle county events and program milestones that showcase progress.
- Adhere to Amref’s guidelines on consent, safeguarding, and ethical storytelling—ensuring every voice is heard responsibly.

Who Are We Looking For?
Boldly put, we want storytellers who can bridge the gap between technical health content and relatable narratives. Here’s what you’ll need:
- A degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, Development Studies, Public Health, or Community Health (with strong writing skills).
- 2–3 years of experience in storytelling, journalism, digital content creation, community documentation, or related fields.

What Gives You an Edge?
- Experience documenting health programs—a game-changer for this role.
- Proficiency in photo/video editing—because visuals speak volumes.

What Will You Deliver?
- Human-interest stories (600–1,000 words) that tug at heartstrings.
- Stunning visuals—both edited and raw photos.
- Short videos (30 seconds–2 minutes) that pack a punch.
- Social media-ready content—scripts, quotes, and more.
- Detailed field notes, captions, and metadata to back up your stories.
